An inbody scan is extremely helpful because it not only measures your body weight but measures your body fat percentage, muscle mass, water weight, and much more. This is extremely helpful for people to understand what their body is made of. This technology gives us the ability to more accurately track the progress an individual is making because it can decipher between fat loss/gain and muscle loss/gain. The reason this is important is because oftentimes people will lose body weight, but a considerable amount of it will be muscle mass which will actually increase their body fat percentage. The inbody scan helps us determine how much of it is muscle mass loss/ gain and how much of the weight is body fat loss/ gain. The inbody also helps determine how much you should be eating. It will calculate your BMR or basal metabolic rate which tells you how many calories your body is burning at rest. This helps indicate how much you should be eating per day. To see an example of how to calculate how much you should be eating each day based on your inbody scan, email firstname.lastname@example.org and ask for a free guide!
Another added benefit of the inbody showing how much lean body mass an individual has, is that you can figure out how much protein you should be eating each day. You can take your lean body mass and average it together with your body weight to figure out how many grams of protein per day you should be consuming. To see an example of this done, reference our free inbody guide for a breakdown (email email@example.com for a free guide) protein is essential to replenish the torn muscle fibers from resistance training, and is essential to build muscle. Consuming more protein also accelerates fat loss because of its satiating properties, and slow digestion rate.
